Re: Ant's Dormobile

Well, after not doing much for ages, i've finally done a little more! I've taken off the wings, and most of the things connected to the bulkhead, with a view to getting it out. I have also moved my chassis out into the open again rady for mordant and painting in the next few days, which will be a ma...

Re: Nice S3 Dormobile - Ebay - Norway

Looks like he got his 10,000 pounds, must be a good thing for us dormobile owners :wine:
Indeed, not that I plan on selling mine (ever!). I'm also learning rapidly that there are more around than I had first anticipated, as I seem to be seeing one for sale every week...

Re: Pressure lamps forum

My scout leader gave me an old hurricane lamp when he moved away that I never managed to get winding properly, couldn't work out why. I also have a fairly extensive collection of paraffin stoves that are in varying states of order, though that reminds me, I needed to get some new lead packing and a ...

Re: 88 series 1

Welcome to the forum! That is a nice vehicle you have there, the rear tub tent reminds me of a picture I saw somewhere of a ambulance? (I think) with a canvas top, where the back of the canvas folded out like that. That 88" Dormobile looks very good! That would have tempted me, had I seen it be...

Well you learn something every day! Thanks for the explanation, I don't really know much about batteries (or Land Rovers for that matter...), so its all interesting to know. :tiphat:

Re: Good location for the leisure battery in the dormobile.

I'm no expert in these matters, but would it cause any trouble with fluid/plates having it at an angle like that? If upright though, looks like a good spot for things! I had a look for various storage spots on mine not so long ago, it's all annoyingly split up by outriggers underneath. There is a bi...

Re: Fold Flat seats

I was pondering the mechanisms myself, and thinking that all the nice flat, simple linkages would be very easy to waterjet/laser cut... :gold:

You could make a killing selling proper replica Dormatic seats, but I suspect there would be a copyright problem...

The large rear windows look very practical, and the whole thing looks great! :gold:
