Post by dudley » Sun Apr 21, 2013 3:07 pm

hi

since our w/e in yorkshire, when my
pump tap in the sink froze it has not
worked.

i left it for a while to thaw and now
the pump action works, but no suction.

i can see the spout unscrews but is
the main barrel a sealed unit or will
it come apart.only had a quick look

i await your suggestions

Hi Phillip,

I think it's the same tap as the one in mine & Patrick's - if so; yes it does come apart but I think it's just a twist/friction fit.

Once you've got it apart, you'll probably find the ball in the bottom of the barrel assembly isn't seating properly, probably due to a foreign body :aaagh: like a piece of grass we found in Patrick's.

I suppose you could be very unlucky and find that the water in the barrel expanded when it froze, causing some damage - I hope not though

Cheers,
Robin.
