I'm not saying that Martin Walters never converted a used vehicle, but they were a big business converting 100's of new vehicles into Dormobiles. During the Sixties they had 800 employees and bought vehicles in large batches unregistered direct from the manufacturers. My Dormobile was in a batch of 10 export model vehicles from Land Rover. From what I was told, vehicles were registered before being sent out, but if they were going to a Land Rover dealership, they might not have been registered. Most Dormobile's I have seen do have the Maidenhead registration.The reg could be different if it wasn't converted as new.
