It was all going so well then BANG BANG BANG

Post by Jabbawocky » Fri Oct 18, 2013 10:37 pm

Nowt in the fridge, so nipped to the butchers and turning right into the car park, BANK BANK BANK from the gearbox. Got the sausages and though there was nowt to loose trying to get home, so off I set. Little bit of grumbling from first, then perfect through all the other gears. Dropped the oil this morning and I got two teeth and a bit of the frame from the mainshaft front bearing. So, what happened?

This gearbox has been sweat as they come, with no noise, no movement in the gear leaver, etc.

Has bit of cage got into the gears and broken them or has the bearing collapsed allowing the shafts to separated and the teeth have broken under load? Who knows?

Guess what I am doing half term?

Dear Santa, please can I have a 5 speed gearbox and Ashcroft transfer box adapter plate.
