I have noticed that my Dormobile doesn't have a 4WD Station Wagon badge on the back, under the Land Rover logo. Is this normal for conversions not to have, or has something funny happened? I can't see any holes for it, but I thought I would check

I am not sure of the definitive answer especially if yours has never had the holes, but Dormy has them front & back (actually they are in a box at the moment but will go back on).

What year is it? I have seen many later vehicles without these badges (especially SIIIs) My Stage One has never had one fitted, either (but I know, this is very late as far as Series motors go!)

My vehicle is 1965, if that helps. When I can access the back of it again, I will look properly to see if there are any holes. Would the badge have always been fitted underneath the Land Rover logo, or could it have been elsewhere?
Thanks,
Ant

Always below the LR oval, if it is that style of badge. I have not worked out the rule as to when and why they were fitted - some have them and some do not

If your motor has an export chassis number, then that may be the reason?

Nearly all were on Export Chassis numbers including mine. I have the badges front and back.

I've currently got it backed right up in front of the garage door, so get most of it undercover, so I can't get to the back at the moment. Tomorrow, however, I hope to shoehorn it into the barn, so I will have a proper check for holes and report back!
Even if it doesn't have the holes, i'm quite tempted to fit them, because I think they look great.

I've just had a look, there is a dealers plate under the LR badge on the back, so I assume it has never had them on.
In other news, i've finally managed to get it under cover, so I can work on it a bit easier
