Hi Jerry,
Sorry I think we will be a bit too far south of you in NSW. We arrive Sydney on the 8th for 3 nights before moving on to Canberra. We will then spend time at our cousin's who will be organising our walkabout - Blue Mountains etc. They will drop us off in Melbourne before flying on to Perth where we have another week.
I have already contacted Len Smyth through the S2 club but there is little happening before Feb. apparently. He lives in Melbourne but will be away during our stop over

I will let him have details of our movements just in case there is anyone nearby on our travels.
Will just have to keep camera ready for any chance encounters.
Ian
P.S. Happy New Year to one and all (its' already 7am 2014 here)

Sounds fantastic Ian
If you get a chance, send a PM to Jock in Perth - I visited him last year and his red Dormobile is well worth a look.
I'm sure he'll oblige if he's around
Don't forget - lots of pictures
Have a great trip,
Robin.

Thanks Robin. I have sent a PM to Jock.
Will take pics but currently have no way of transferring them to my tablet (left the card reader at home). Will try to sort something out.

G/day Dormy, will be around in Perth on your time line, and it would be good to meet up, for a chat, or maybe a drive around. Always good to talk to like-minded people...

Now there's a thing Dan - and I'm going way off topic here: my old mate and renowned prospector Brian Saunders (RIP cobber) bought a redundant Perth railway halt, cut it in two and had it transported to a patch of bush he owned at Gidgegannup. I enjoyed many a sundowner on the platform after a drive round the property in his Model T Ford, registration no T1. Another true story.....
And a Happy New Year to you too Phillip

It's a small world John... Especially as you have seen most of it.. Lol.. Brilliant story, wonder if the platform is still there?? The local bottle shop burnt down on Sunday, they had better rebuild before I visit ;)

I hope you are enjoying your trip Dormy and you are drinking plenty of xxxx

It seems to be incredibly hot here at the moment, we hit 46 degrees a week or so ago which is just too much

We've just installed another air con unit in the other side of our house to try and keep the temperatures down a bit.

Hi all, yes doing OK despite the heat. Jetstar delivered us 2 days late to Sydney so missed a chance to be shown the sites from an open top 2a :-(
Spent the last week at swmbo's cousin's. Very rural - no internet. But entertained by fishing for supper (ate very well) and keeping cool with a slab of Tooley's
Have only seen 2 series motors, both from inside a car with no chance to stop. 1 was a swb 2a parked beside a building, the other was being loaded onto a trailer but was such a fleeting glimpse I didn't even get to see if it was a 2 or a 3 !
I think I will be getting L/R withdrawal symptoms soon so will definitely phone Jock when we get to Perth.

Met Jock. Got collected from the centre of Perth in his Dormobile (photo to follow) and spent the afternoon talking and looking at his other motors - as you do.
Thanks Jock for making the time for a traveller, enjoy the fishing trip and good luck for the future.
Regards All
Ian
