Jerrry, thats exactly what I want to do. Change the Dormobile to suit our needs as a family of 4 and be able to return everything to original if needed. Some photo's would be great for inspiration and idea's.

Hi Michael

We are only a family of three and our Weaco coolfreeze 25L sits on the lowered O/S rear seat back, strapped to the wardrobe, whilst traveling. When firing up and when in very hot climates, it does draw quite a lot of amps. I have two Hella type sockets mounted in the back. The nearest one to the auxiliary battery runs the fridge fine, but the one on the other side of the vehicle must have too much resistance in the wire as the fridge does trip out in the above conditions.

The quality of the battery also has an effect. When our standard leisure battery got a couple of years old it was just not up to the job of powering the fridge. Fitted a new carbon fibre battery (as recommended on the motorhomes forums) and never had another problem.

As mentioned above, we have our porta potti under the wardrobe. Bounced Barney all over the Alps, the Atlas and some of the Sahara and so far the wheel has not hit the box the potti sits in.

Hope this helps

Cheers Mick
