2 single front seats!! (no bench seat) windows in the roof fallen out, door top fallen off - a really sorry state.

Good job I have a 109 galv chassis to bob under it and a series 2a bulkhead

Yet another project - I think we're all overworked doing these up, but it's worth it to stop them being scrapped

Just been ferreting

Came with a brand new replacement "canvas" and roof vent

And plenty of rust

All of the interior (trim) appears to be there

Drag link came away from the ns wheel when unloading it, so no steering - it is as if it has been in sea water or at least on the coast for the last 10 years

Update, now I have got the paperwork

According to the Land rover service passport, it was sold with 8 miles on the clock by haskins garage (location not known)it's 18,000 mile service was completed at 14,777 miles on 18th june 1981 by FW Cutts in Gloucestershire (Chipping Campden)
I bought it from someone who purchased it on 17 feb 2012 who in turn purchased it from "Hugh" who purchased it in jan 1990 from a Mrs Macdonald (still in scotland) It is believed to have been dragged (byHugh) from the Isle of Skye.
Mrs Mac bought it in 1988.
I have a letter from one Andy Moffat a Dormobile club member, who, on seeing it from a helicopter, tracked it down and wrote to Hugh , asking to buy it - this would have been Dormobile number 4 for him!
Finally, I have a 1997 copy of Dormobile magazine, including full membership list for that time.
Plus a dimensioned "blueprint" type paper from Dormobile showing the seat configuration - 2 seats in the front!

I mentioned the new replacement "canvas", other interesting things are that the wardrobe has been removed (as opposed to not having been fitted) and the PO had fitted an 88 bench seat so he could, presumably, use the kitchen more comfortably. If you look closely at the kitchen (Mick), you will see that same PO has replaced the two doors that should be under the stove, with a one piece affair, as well as butchering the inside to allow a water container and calor gas bottle!!

I can only assume that the driver's bed was never used (the bench seat was in the way) and a holiday lifestyle of celibacy was practised!

Don't have any clues as to when the PPG kit was fitted

A bit of an update and progression

It now looks like this;















The bulkhead just crumbled, as did the door that you can see., HOwever, the chassis, although in need of rear cross member and outriggers, isn't as bad as I thought

Replacment chassis has had its bulkhead removed and gone to paint man. It is sitting on the old 2a front axle which has now had new seals and a fetching pair of gaiters.

Waiting for the LT77 to turn up and then the fun to start regarding how that is going to fit.

On the plus side, the right (off side) side frame looks to be good enough for re-use. I will be getting a replacement near side though.
Just picked up another 3.54 diff so I now have a pair!

Nice one Alex - looks like you're getting on well with it.
Must be something to do with that new carport - it must be great to work in the dry when it's raining
