New concertina.

Post by w3526602 » Wed May 07, 2014 4:54 pm

Hi,

My roof was once fitted with a vertical action pop-top - make unknown. The concertina fabric has long gone, and the GRP top is going to need re-inforcing ... a couple of layers of "mat" should sort that.

Question! Where can a get a new concertina fitted?

Are there any makers marks? Otherwise maybe try the local chandlers or sail makers?

As rob says, a sailmaker or tent repairer is your best bet.

If it's a concertina type of pop-up, the chances are the makers are no longer in existence.

If you find someone local, the best thing to do would be to take the vehicle there if they would accept that, or remove the fabric and take it as a pattern.

If it were a Dormobile there are a couple of folk still making the 'canvas' for those, at a price!

Cheers,
Robin.

Hi 602

When I had my awning made by Tent Valeting Services, Ray said he made the canopies for Dormobile and their website does show camvases for Campers/motorhome. LInk in my post http://www.rms1.co.uk/lrcc/forum/viewto ... ?f=18&t=53
