Off Road Camping.......

Post by jerryd » Fri May 04, 2012 3:32 pm

I recently took my youngest lad and his mate camping for a few days, it was really to try out the dormobile after fitting all new bits underneath the front end
We ended up camping in a deer park on the edge of a state forest and spent lots of time exploring the tracks in the forests. It was quite wet as it rained every night so we stuck to the easy tracks, nothing worse than being stuck in the middle of a forest with no telephone reception and nobody around for miles :shakehead: I was really surprised how well the dormobile coped with some of the tracks and can't wait to try out some harder ones when I have another vehicle with us. We did quite a few creek crossings, some shallow and some quite deep. We only conked out once with wet leads etc  A good excuse to fit that diesel motor I think.

Here's a few pics, not good quality as they were taken with my phone.

Off Road Camping..........Excellent, it's what a Dormobile's for :tiphat:

Don't be too surprised by the off-road capability - it is a L/R underneath !
