Ahaa, well I got around this by having a water jerry-can feeding a caravan geyser type pump.
It satisfied them anyway.....

The question of 'running water' wasn't even mentioned when I insured mine, the only interest they had was is it factory approved. Maybe I had no problems because mine is firmly on the unmodified end of the scale, but then again others have had no problems with TDI's.....

Nor me - the only stipulation RH made was that I had to have a fire extinguisher fitted due to the cooker & gas!

Most Dormobiles had running water? just because it was gravity feed shouldn't make any difference? Had my Dormobile for 5 years and never had any issues with insurance at all? Been with FJ for 5 years and have all my Landies on the same policy.

Dormobiles should have two water containers, one in the upper rack should have the tap and one in the lower rack does not. As I made my Wardrobe, I took the liberty of moving the upper rack slightly higher to allow a NATO water jerry can to fit in the lower rack and searched ebay/internet to find a water container with tap to fit in the upper rack. Cost about a £10 from Sealey, if my memory still serves me correctly?

OK, OK... ;) I take it back, they all had running water, just not a fixed system.... Like Mick I am FJ and basically have no problems at all..................

That's great Rob - can you give us some idea of price, and how they dealt with the 'camper' aspects?

Sure, still waiting for the forms etc but it's about £220 for a modified 109 (engine, brakes & suspension - PAS doesn't count!) with 5k miles and (very) occasional commuting (ie heading away straight from work). Underwriter is Chaucer, broker Heritage. Defined on the policy as a 109 Carawagon. Interior is a factory fit Carawagon (confusion caused by me as it's a bit more basic than I was expecting having seen yours). Value is set at £1200 for now (what I paid for it) and that will be increased once on the road & fettled - may need a letter or similar confirming what some of the others are worth.

As an aside Chaucer are very wary of commuting at the moment because someone had a fairly major crash in a Series & the payouts were rather high due to the robust build!

All I need to do is email a mileage number from the speedo; assume I need to update that every year for their records - wonder if it works!

If it's like the 88" then that'll be down the inside of the drivers door frame & up through the passenger floor. SWMBO wasn't amused when that "leak" appeared..... My first words were "Are you OK" then much laughing once I she said what had happened....
