LRCC

Well, I've just had an apology from the organisers - they admit they slipped up!

Despite me doing what they suggested last year (writing a request on each show application) they missed it and didn't allocate S2C and LRCC adjoining stands, again

I've been promised it will be sorted for the next shows - the person I spoke to said she was opening the spreadsheet on her computer while talking to me, and putting an entry with our request in bold red type!

Let's see, eh

I might just ring them a few weeks before to make sure the entry is still there

I'm looking forward to this weekend anyway, despite the weather report I've just heard saying there may be snow on high ground in the Pennines tonight

Looks like a wet & cool Saturday, followed by a glorious Sunday afternoon

Well, an interesting start to the show weekend!
The showground management had marked out almost 60% of the grounds as 'unsuitable for vehicle movement' after the rain last week

The damage was obvious and much of the area was being turfed or reseeded - the Great Yorkshire Show is only about 7 weeks away and after it had to be cancelled last year due to ground conditions, they weren't taking any chances with us causing more damage

Kelly, from Live Promotions, was running around like a blue ***** fly, but still with all her usual enthusiasm trying to fit everyone on to the remaining areas, so the layout map in the programme was totally wrong and stands were being squashed into spaces wherever they could get.

Saying that, the S2C was given a very large area, admittedly near the edge of the showground, but as the show area was so reduced it wasn't really out of the way, and we managed to set up on part of that area before other clubs tried to squeeze on

From a show stand point of view, it was a great weekend - and once the rain stopped, we had a good afternoon on Saturday and a glorious day on Sunday

Patrick, Steve and I were in our Carawagons, as usual, and we were joined by Mick, William & Joe in their Dormobile, Mark & Cat in their Marshall Ambulance camper, and Dave in his Carawagon.


Here are the usual requisite pics - I'm afraid they are getting to look a bit 'same-ish', but folk seem to like the layout, and we always get compliments from the show organisers (and it's a good place to shelter from the rain ).

As promised, we were invited into the arena on Sunday afternoon after striking camp, and yours truly was put on the spot by the presenter
However, despite being asked for our suggestions for our 'intro' music, they didn't use either of ours (Jammu Africa by Ismaël Lô and Horse with No Name by America) and we went into the ring to a classical piece chosen by the DJ
