I will have to get a look at yours Mick as mine doesn't have knobs (either of the drivers seat as the original was found and is now in storage). Mine just slides back and forth with a latch similar to LR seats (only on different tracks) and has the lever to drop the seat flat .

Oh good, I wasn't being stupid!

So I just use the normal slider right forward for opening the hatch and accessing regulator, and right back to lift right out?
However this is only useful for turning the regulator on or off, if you want to change a bottle, out comes the seat...
If you can open the hatch to get at the regulator, can one not change the gas cylinder as well, or do you have to lower the whole cage to put new cylinders in?
Thanks,
Ant

You need the seat right off to manhandle the gas cylinders in. With it slid forward you can reach in and turn the regulator on and off but you don't have enough room to get the gas out. Taking the seat out is simple though.

S'cuse my ignorance again, I remembered to have a go at taking the seat out again. I slid it right back, but there is a piece bolted right across the width of the vehicle stopping it coming off. Do I need to just take this off, or am I missing something [else] obvious?
Thanks,
Ant

Hi Ant
Post some pictures so we can have a look. On my 1971, the rails come out with the seat.
Cheers Mick
