You just make sure you do what Janey tells you to Brad, and get well.

G'day chap's, thank's for the concern Alex but i do listen to janie, i am also a stubborn old mule and sometimes get a bit carried away finding it hard to just cruise in the middle of the road to speak :embarassed: .

Tomorrow i have a very old looking school mate who recon's he know's how this multi wood working machine work's so i am going to call his bluff , Ah! it's easy were his word's? so rather than lose a finger or two i will just watch and learn  .

I have tried to read and digest the instruction's but the old brain box is more like a sieve at times with meaningful knowledge just passing through, unless my storage capacity is a tad on the full side
If i can get the sliding door's done and finished i am thinking maybe an MOT after a quick check over incase i have missed anything.

Well i was full of anticipation of maybe at least getting the runners cut to allow me to at least loosely fit them then treat them with my mixed up stain, unfortunately my very old looking school mate never turned up  , not that i am surprised even though he lives just round the corner.

A bit brassed off i had a good clean out of the tool's and rubbish that had accumulated over a period of time, my thought's turned to my sound system which is a must for me, when sat or just relaxing in bed on my own in the middle of know where normally with a tipple or two in mind.

During the day nature is my music but when night time comes nature sort of sleep's but the inquisitive few will always come to see what my fire is about, along with the smell of some veggy food and my gentle sounds, soon pair's of eye's of different height's appear which i will watch for hour's.

My son had given me a CD come wireless but i like my tapes as well, a question to anyone in the know can i buy a digital wireless come tape player  , the reason for asking is i have a few CD multi changers and would like to have a choice.

I have got myself four speakers and for a change have started to make a box to mount the speakers in which will be a nice little job for tomorrow, instead of taking on a bigger job and my school mate deciding to turn up and i have to stop which is not ideal for me anyway.

Catch you later. R-Rose :tiphat: .

Maybe you'd be better converting the tapes & CD's to electronic format? It'll mean less kit in the back and I chucked loads of tapes as they'd stretched with use/poor players over the years.

Example kit is this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01 ... WEC9L98JWM but I'm sure you can find something cheaper/better (or SWMBO can!).

G'day Rob, thank's for the reply although i wish i had read it earlier :banghead: , today was spent finding a nice bit of ply then measuring the speakers and cut to the size needed so i could mount my speakers using the ply as a backing to the dog guard .

i had got some speakers but then found the homage was different on two of them, with this being the case i thought i had better go in my attic, now that has boxes of little treasures which should include some matching speaker's one of which is a base box{Boom Box} that my son bought me  .

I know it seems strange but over the years my boy's have bought little add on's that sort of personalize my truck's, i am afraid the boom box was one of them from when i used to pick them up from club's in the early hours, :embarassed: here comes my dad which i guess made them happy with the sticker that is still in the windscreen {Dads Taxi}.

I must have been on a go slow or something but it had turned really cold from being a sunny day, so while still not feeling a hundred percent i packed up and called it a day thinking a nice warm brew sat in the bungalow would be a good idea.

Catch you later. R-Rose :tiphat: .

PS. it's just as well i was not waiting or relying on the old school mate who has still not arrived  .

Confusion come indecisive decision's i have found my way  , with the help of my lass i will still be able to get myself a new finally to me digital wireless come tape player, i know it is more work but like i mentioned above my new at least 15 year old unused amp, boom box, CD changer is going to be fitted to my camper.

Because of my health issue's memories are very precious to me, i am stuck in my own little world anyway of time gone by :embarassed: so using what my boy's bought me makes me happy.

I have a few thing's to pay for first but at least i can get what i would like, with this in mind i will sort of be doing thing's backward's, to be honest this is nothing new to me but i will work with what i have and if i come to a halt i can replenish myself with a bit of wood work.

Jokingly i was called a wood butcher the other day  , offended :neener: yes! but i have mentioned before i am no joiner, at least i have a go and it is the only way to learn sometimes  .

I am looking forward to cracking on tomorrow if of course weather permit's  , if not what ever happen's i will let you know but i feel i am :nana: which is what or hobby is about.

I got timed out tonight :banghead: , having got carried away of how i had got on and what trouble i got myself into, being called a wood butcher i thought after completing the inch ply backings with there final stain i would make a start on my drivers side rear cupboard.

Now yesterday i was tootling in one of my sheds planing and applying some olive oil to the wood where it run's when opening and shutting, it was then i noticed some dove tail joints which had stood the test of time.

This cupboard with probably be moved in and out of the truck many times  , so i have to make it strong, i sort of remember from years ago being able to do this and make a good job and being called the above made me more amendment to have a bash at least.

The old school friend still not having turned up made the issue more in the forefront of my mind :embarassed: , this is where my downfall began and only remembering half of what i had to do even with having the tools needed i think? i was just a failure :embarassed: .

It was then i counted back the years :aaagh: which was 50 years ago so i guess i can excuse myself for not remembering everything  , it still did not help the disappointment but that's life i guess  .

Maybe a fresh job will help and it will come back to me  , the thought of my old school friend now looked apon as of an aqaintant might have helped but as usual pateince is a virtue and i will get there in the end :banghead: .

G'day chap's, i managed to get outside and have a tinker with HEC and what a relief, having not worked inside her for a while due to being told to rest  and for a change i took notice  . Anyway i had made my own headlining out of what i had available which is held in place by strip's of stained wood that is either bolted or screwed, i guess the front part you would have seen in previous pictures with the sun shades bolted to the strip that goes across the windscreen.
As we know the older series has three raised rib's in the roof, if you look on the inside where the rib's are you have an indentation that allowed me to lay my tapered lengths of inch square stained wood which is fastened using self taping screw's, remember the rib on the roof  that is where the self tappers are hidden and sealed which in my mind is an ideal fixing point.
Maybe it is not what others approve of but then my truck's are nothing like original and like i have said are more of a therapy and fun to me anyway. With the two outer strips of wood in place screwed first i then fit the center strip that tighten's my head lining, when i am satisfied i draw round the wood on the headlining take one strip off at a time and apple glue to the underside of the wood then replace the strip of wood.
It really is a tad different to say the least but to me it is a romany way of using what you have available  , anyway by this time i was starting to flag a bit having been laid up longer than i like so fitting the stained wooden plates for the speakers to screw to was in my thought's only :cactus: .
I sort of studied the way the wires were going then was distracted because i have finally ran out of wood stain :thud: , i guess i will have to get my lass to take me down to B&Crook Q that is  Oh! and buy some :aaagh: .

Hey up chap's, frustration got the better of me with only thought's of what i should be doing,Oh! and the fact my St Bernard decided i had been in bed long enough by dragging all the bed clothes on the floor  the little tinker.
I had left her lead on the chair in the conservatory yesterday which was dragged through to my bedroom  , trying to put my trousers on while she was pulling at my belt was not easy  but at least i got them on the right way round today :embarassed: .
Anyway after a short trundle and a strong brew it was time for a dummy run at fitting the front backing board for the speakers, this proved to be a bit of a struggle on my own but patience i have plenty of  , with the board central and level and tightened in place i discovered i had a problem :thud: .
The interior mirror vision was blocked by the speaker board :banghead: , out came my long level so i could mark where i needed to cut the ply to give me what i needed, this is not just to see traffic behind me but to keep an eye on my St Bernard while traveling at night on my own.
I fitted the speakers where i had marked earlier then marked the shape needed to be cut out to give a view of what i needed to see.
Next was to take the backing board down and cut out the marked area then sand it down, with my lass having found some stain on the freezer meant i could give both backing boards more stain, to make me even happier the colour was what i originally started with before i mixed what i thought i had left a while ago  .
At least tonight when i packed up my clothes were not wet through with sweat :woohoo: so i must be sort of on the mend. Catch you later. R-Rose :tiphat: .

Another fair day's tinkering and a feeling i have achieved something, the board and speakers are now fixed in position along with boom tube my lads bought me that is also mounted on a board backed against and screwed to the speaker board.
My next job while laying down the wiring for the above is to incorporate a split charge system for my second battery, this will be under the passenger seat i hope, it is also where i would like some help please  , even though i am quite capable i get tired and confused very quickly these day's :embarassed: .
Could someone put up a simple picture i could follow please  , by doing it this way would help me immensely and i could just concentrate on enjoying myself which is what i do when playing with wires. As you might have gathered from pictures of my wiring in the engine bay i like it to look tidy, this is easy to do unless your brain think's like mine and question's everything i do, that can be a real pain sometimes and is where i loose my way if i am tired :stars: so it doesn't hurt to ask PLEASE but as simple as possible.
I have acquired some nice bit's of timber for when it get's a bit dryer and warmer so i can start on the cupboard, i know i was going to start it a while ago but i have been told to wait for some better wood to work with  which i am not going to argue about with it being free  .
