It is not a direct replacement chassis as far as I can tell, this would only be of concern to a rivet counter I suppose! The dumb irons do look 1 ton-ish and the bracing is very late Series 2 or Series 3? Anyway, no matter..
What was the chassis purchased for originally, it looks like it has been outside for a while? At least a buyer won't have to use 'T Wash' to enable it to be painted

It was bought for this vehicle so, if Richards recommend a one-ton, who knows? Whatever, it has all the right bits and will do the job very nicely. Dormobiles, according to the Owner's Club forum historian, were apparently built on an 'export' chassis. Quite what the difference is between an export chassis and a stock Series 2A is beyond my ken. I'd be interested if anyone can elucidate.
Anyway, as I can't hang about while potential buyers ponder - it goes on eBay tonight.

I think the export chassis was built to constantly get patches of rust that you need to fix every-time you do anything to it... Or at least that is my opinion today

Good luck with the Bay....

Mine still has black shiny paint on it
Will be interesting to see how it goes on ebay, hopefully somebody who wants one will spot it.

If it's a one ton chassis, I meant to say that I see it as a plus. And at least as original as a TDI
Good luck on the sale. Exposure to Europe via ebay is bound to net you some significant offers.

NOW SOLD
Thanks to all here for the lively help and encouragement.
You'll be pleased to learn that the vehicle is going to a very good home indeed (can't say where, who or indeed how much - so please don't ask) and will be very thoroughly restored and no doubt still rolling 50 years from now.
