Well chap's, it's took me the best part of two sort of day's to get the top batten bolted in place using the roof bolt's and the second batten fastened to the strengthening rib three quarter's of the way down side panel, of course over the top as usual :embarassed: but the batten's were glued in place first  .

I found some insulation in one of my little shed's so out came the tape-bread knife-straight edge and of course my good old wood worker pencil and i set to and cut the insulation glued and stuck it all in place :nana1: after which a brew or two was needed before i set to and cut the marine ply panel.

By this time the heat had slowed me to almost a stop and i needed to move the seat belt mount's anyway but that meant either moving the truck to get to the passenger side or clamber across the front :shakehead: , by this time i thought it best to stop before i make a mistake.

At least the near side insulation come panel is almost done so i am in quite a happy place tonight and can't wait to crack on as sound as i can tomorrow :cactus: .

Well chap's, to be honest i am starting to wonder how i ever got anything done in years gone by  , for what ever reason i seem to make work for myself :shakehead: not that i mind but although the horizontal lat is fixed in place along with the insulation that is glued to the body sides it appears that by fitting a parallel tile lat between the roof lat and back body capping in side has a slight taper :embarassed:.

Now this has got complicated so to make it easy on myself i had the 2'' lat facing inwards then placed another lat beside so i could draw the taper then plane it down glue and screw together so i thought but because the insulation is not as deep as the rear body panel in my eye's anyway i need more than a couple of up rights to help with the strength of the 1/4 marine ply.

Easy job maybe to some but if i have to buy something it's only because i don't have anything to do the job just as well taking only time which i have plenty of and i guess i know when the job is done there will be no hollow sounding bang's just a deep thud  .

I do wish i could just do something without thinking i could do a job another way just so i could please my excuse for a complexed brain :banghead: , never mind i guess a couple more up rights won't hurt and that's just on one side :thud: .

G'day chap's, i just thought a picture of how i got myself into a mess with glue  while assembling using a square that now has glue all over it along with my Philips screwdriver that's in much the same state :thud: .

To be honest after a dry run so to speak i thought right we will have a touch of glue and screw the vertical lat's together :shakehead: , now this requires balance while on my knee's in a confined space in this heat wave and being built like an aging gorilla as you can see this was not an easy job :thud: .

At one point i had glue everywhere but where i wanted to put it and did i loose my cool :shakehead: not a chance but what was a miracle is the fact i didn't break anything when i kept falling over on heap's of tool's that are opposite side of where i was working and that's not just the tool's i am talking about  .

Hopefully tomorrow i might get the marine ply glued and pinned in place so i can say job done on that side unless of course something else comes to mind :cactus: .

Well chap's i just hope it is going to be a better night than last night after my little escapade with glue i got everywhere but where i needed it! to start with anyway :embarassed: and to top that off it appears you are supposed to keep the glue away from any skin contact :thud: .

Although i register very little pain in my hands they became red raw and felt like they were on fire :aaagh: but i guess there was some good come of it and the old arthritis in the arm's and hands took a back seat for a change  so today was a be careful day  .

With nearside board ready with glue applied to the right places this time and masking tape marking the lat's the board was offered in place and tacked all the way round including the center lat's, feeling a bit chuffed i went for a brew and some tucker also giving my back a good rest.

It was while chilling out in front of the pond it dawned on me i had tacked the complete board in place :shakehead: i hate nailing anything and that includes tack's so when i finished :eatin: i then started the slow job of pulling the tack's countersinking the holes and applying the appropriate sized screws which i am now a good halfway through doing then hopefully tomorrow the rest will be done get it rubbed down and either stained or varnished which ever i find first  .

G'day chap's, well sort of two day's have passed and working wood around my seat belt anchoring has proved very trying to say the least, trying to keep figures in my head then transferring them on to the wood so the wood i cut fit's nice and snug :banghead: it also made me feel like giving up.

As usual giving up is in my eye's down to confusion and tiredness but i don't like being beaten so after resting and a fair night's sleep and i guess the fact i have had a few practice run's the recoil part of the seat belt is now sat in a recess but only loosely bolted so i could mark and cut a hole for the top mounting bolt which is the proper bracket just above one's shoulder.

Intermittent rain was a problem and i guess distract's one even though i have never had a garage to work in but Hey! if i had a garage i would only fill it with tool's like a lathe a milling machine to name but a few that have been on my wish list for years  .

Anyway we are a little bit further on with just the last part of wood work to rub down ready for a coat or two of of stain and i will see what it look's like then  , i almost forgot i have to fill in where the the screws were used after extracting all those tack's come nails after a change of mind yet again.

I used to be indecisive but i am not so sure now :thud: and don't i know it :embarassed: . Catch you later. R-Rose :tiphat: .

Well with the sun shining through my bedroom window and man's best friend wanting her breakfast i had no choice but to get up and see to her then myself and a quick lay down while the bones sort themselves out so i can carry on  .

As usual having forgot where i had got up to with a quick read on here i mixed myself some filler and applied it to all the holes and countersunk depression's only thinly so it would dry quicker which proved a longer job than hoped but then Rome was not built in a day  .

Having got from what i could see in the failing light a job that i was sort of happy with i gave the nearside a couple of coat's of stain with the first coat just dissapearing in the ply by which time it was dark and i had to call it a day.

Next step is to start the frame work :cactus: or maybe a few trial run's with what i have available which is more likely to be honest  .
