Good reading that, lost my copy years ago. Got some great overlanding books by Tom Sheppard, Jack Jackson and the Slavins who I met up with here and there in the good old days. Happy to loan them out if anyone's interested.

Some great stuff in there Mick - the full fat version 'Vehicle Dependent Expeditions' goes for anything from £75 to £230. I've got the author's 'Quiet for a Tuesday' if anyone's interested in borrowing it.

Co-incidentally just visited a veteran overlander friend of mine from the 70's and he presented me with a copy of 'Guide to Land Rover Expeditions' referrred to above together with various Series 1 and 2 Instruction/Workshop manuals and a 2A Parts Book.
