Exactly as above, overdrive fitted but the damn blanket box will not fit over the top.... What has everyone else done, do I have to reduce the depth of the box using metal sticking tool number 1?

So that must be deeper than the tool tray which normally fits there?

The tool trays in our vehicles (Carawagons & standard LRs) is only about 4-5" deep, so sits over the top of the overdrive.

It is in the tool tray position Alex, but I am told it is bigger and wider than usual and is screwed in place... According to my literature it is a 'blanket box' for storing your blankest under the passenger seat.... It must be deeper than a standard tool box...

Makes sense - if you don't have an overdrive fitted there's a lot of space under the middle seat which could be utilised with a deep box.

Or a trip to Lidl / Aldi to get a baking tray of similar size !

G'day matey, with you saying it is bigger and wider than a normal one is it not one from a 24 volter as they are wider and held in place with either bolts or screws.

Interested in your blanket box. Barney has the standard 6 pot tool tray and the OD was fitted under it.

Several years ago I was given a tray to go under the seatbox, but could never work out where it should go as there was not enough room with the OD fitted. Never measured it again since I removed the OD.

Here's a pic of my original box that was fitted in the centre of the seat box. It was a poor fit so when I did the upgrades to my seat box I made a new improved Mk2 version. All easily removed for access to gearbox,handbrake etc.

There's a few pics of the mods I did on page two in this section, I must say it's the most useful modification I've done as it's very useful storage space and easy access too I didn't take any pics of the fully finished carpeted product though

I get her back a week Saturday and will photograph for you Mick... Basically the tray is supposedly wider than the standard one and about an inch deeper.... I will see when I get it back, my thoughts are to locally take enough out to go over the overdrive and then put an access panel in it to check overdrive fluids. The box itself is usually screwed in place, probably why nobody ever fitted an o/d before!!!
