Dear Land Rover owners,
We would like to introduce our SommLandBul in your forum. We are from France, in "Baie de Somme", 2 hours from Calais.
The SommLandBul is a 109 SII A Ambulance we bought two years ago. We made modifications to adapt it in camper version. We use it since 1 year and we're really happy when we're in the nature with it and have some good times.
You can visit its website at
www.sommlandbul.fr (sorry but it's only in French.).
English is not our mother language, sorry if we make some mistakes in our posts.
Landy yours,
Christophe

Good to see drawings and details of the conversion, a bit of careful thought and planning always rewards with a functional end result.

G'day matey, while looking at your beautiful truck it made me want to go outside and look inside mine just to remind me of what i had been missing after many years camping in mine then laying it up due to birds nesting in the dash while i was trying to upgrade the electrics

.
Shame i know but nature comes first with me and she will run again one day

are you running a petrol in your truck or have you gone diesel

if so what are you running as i intend to either put in a 2.5na or TD but then it could just be a standard diesel all of which i have ready to drop in

.
Anyway less about me and mine it's nice to see others that like the clumbersome trucks that they are and it looks like you have made a lovely job along with the colour it's a real head turner and you should be proud of yourself.
Catch you later. R-Rose

Hi R-Rose,
The engine is the original engine : petrol 2.1/4 l. I don't have some mechanical knowledges to be able to change it and after many discussions, it was recommended to keep it in place.
Best regards,
Chris.

G'day matey, at this moment in time i still have a 2-1/4 petrol in mine and have an unleaded gas flowed head fitted with an SU carb convertion and she pulls lovely but a bit on the slow side at times with a caravan behind

.
It is good to know that you can repair most breakdowns easerly on the side of the road to at least get you to where you are going even with limited knowledge and if you do have a problem at anytime at least you have a nice set up to spend the night.
Happy travels. R-Rose
