Ebay Dormobile - £7.5k (auction)

Hi guys,

This has just popped up on Ebay:
1971 Dormobile with a starting price of £7.5k.

Looks quite respectable and with original interior, though it does have a Ford Essex petrol engine and aftermarket (or possibly Wolf?) wheels fitted.

I had a 109" with the Essex engine - very smooth, not as quiet as a 2.25 petrol but more economical. I used to get around 20mpg average, and that was driving it pretty hard as I loved the sound of the engine on full bore  The best I got was towing my Dandy folding camper to the Lakes - 24mpg so I'm pretty sure high 20s is easily possible driven carefully.

It might be an interesting tester for current values

Cheers,
Robin.

Maybe, but the price reflects £500 for the vehicle and £7k for the Maltese cross grill

Get rid of the horrible wheels, decals, bumper and engine and we are on our way to a nice motor... the interior seems quite nice and unmolested. Bit steep given its 'deviations' IMO
