Beach Camping............

Recently back from a weeks camping on the beach :cactus: It's amazing that we haven't had rain for six months and yet on our first day away it poured down  However it had passed by the following day and within a couple of days the grey skies turned to blue.
I must admit we moved inland a bit (200 metres) due to the wind and the noise of the ocean and hogged a site with power :woohoo: to keep the ladies happy. We had a cheeky kangaroo sneak into the camp kitchen and steal a loaf of bread, unfortunately he was too quick for me to get a picture of him caught in the act.
I then made the mistake of feeding a lonesome parrot, the next morning he bought 26 of his mates round at 5am for breakfast . You should hear the noise they make

We drove about 140 kilometres along the beaches which was great fun and only had one or two scary moments in soft sand due to me being in the wrong gear :embarassed: Also had a problem starting the dormobile on our morning of departure, I think too much salty water got in the electrics. Luckily for me our friend's kids locked their 4x4 with the keys in the ignition, so when the racq man eventually came to their rescue I slipped him a few $$ and he got us going

What a great trip Jerry - makes me want to live there again.

Reminds me of my childhood, and more recent holidays - all that wildlife, and noise!!

The Parrots (I think they are Rainbow Lorikeets in your pics), Gallahs and the occasional Kookaburra calls make the Australian bush a noisy place :stars:

My favourite is the Magpie call - totally different to the UK Magpie!- we used to get that sound constantly where we lived (near Adelaide), and every time I revisit Australia their noise brings back happy memories

Thanks for sharing - looks like you had a great time

Oh, and I'll bet when it rained it was still warm

Cheers,
Robin.
