Another couple of pics from my laptop 'archive' of camper conversions.

I saw this one in Switzerland two times, two years apart at the same location and at the same time of year. I was out there over the New Year period taking Scouts out skiing in the alps. Never got a chance to chat to the owners of this, but looks a fantastic vehicle! The front end is one piece, what I assume to be GRP, and hinged at the front bumper. The bulkhead was galvanised and unpainted. IIb deep dish wheels, 110 aluminium door tops, GRP (?) rear door and other bits... very well kitted out and I would like to see the way the roof pops up, which it seems to!

It looks as if the owner knows what he
is doing.he has a good looking landrover
with the adaptions he wants.

Maybe not one for the purist.

from the pictures I can not see any hinges
or catches,so maybe the roof is fixed.

That was my first thought, though why go to all the trouble of designing and moulding a roof which only gives about 3-4" more headroom than standard?

I reckon it must lift in some way, otherwise it wouldn't be worth the trouble

Oh, and after seeing a front end bolted together and front hinged at the International a few years ago (Lakes?) I always thought it would be a good idea.
Easy access to the whole engine, and presumably could be uncoupled from the hinges and lifted right off?

An extra 3-4" in the back is actually quite significant - I can barely move when bent double in mine (no roof). But agreed would have made sense to have it lift somehow. Maybe it goes straight up in the middle?
