Another great show :gold:

Just four Carawagons on the stand, but loads of other Land Rovers at the showground as well as about 200+ classic cars, 50+ classic bikes and lots of tractors, steam driven vehicles and stationary engines.

It was probably the biggest and best Ackworth show we've been to for a few years

John Brook, the organiser, likes our vehicle and camping display so asked if we'd mind setting up right inside the entrance so folk will see us when they come in :gold:

Plenty of visitors, lots of questions, and some great firepit action once the public had gone home

Oh, and Farmer Steve, Farmer Patrick and Farmer Robin were guest drivers on two grey Fergies and a Farmall Cub (first time for farmer Steve), playing on the field before parading them in the arena :woohoo:

Thanks to Little Richard and Big Richard for the loan of the tractors

I'm sure the others will have pics to add.

Thanks to Phillip, Steve and Patrick for bringing their Carawagons for the display and to friends for stopping by

Cheers,
Robin.

Not as many rattles on a tractor

I don't know - on a bumpy field with no suspension other than rubber bungs under the seat, it feels just like a Series LR and just as rattly

Oh, and the grey Fergie I was driving had a loose wheel bearing or worn kingpin, and a leaking Diesel tank, so just as maintenance free as a Land Rover

We enjoy driving the tractors each year - luckily there are some tractor owners who let others drive them, especially after they've spent a very late night in the Steam Inn beer tent which means they might not feel up to bouncing around

It's actually a 'driver's cap', similar to a cloth cap with peak (press stud to keep it up or release to pull down).

I usually wear it at the steam events - looks the part, keeps the cinders out of my hair and the rain off my glasses :gold:

I was referring to the loudspeakers visible on your hat in the photo...

Just got another pic, courtesy of Patrick's friend: being "interviewed" in the arena, me, Steve and Patrick in the line-up.
